Woman Crashes Car Into A Busy Restaurant

During the dinner rush on May 6, a 79-year-old woman backed her car into the dining room of Enzo’s Ristorante in Westchester. Prior to reversing her vehicle into the restaurant, she hit two cars in the parking lot. The crash left 9 people injured including 4 who were in critical condition. The woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated and has been released on bail. She may still face additional charges.

Suspect In Drunk Driving Accident Stabs Witness While Released On Bail

A 23-year-old man was released on bail after being arrested and charged in connection to the horrific car crash last September. The Brooklyn man allegedly plowed through a crowded sidewalk, hitting nine people, one who died a few days after the accident. He was arrested a few blocks away and his blood alcohol was 0.17  at the time of the arrest. He was released on bail and but during his release he has allegedly committed another crime. A friend and witness to the car crash was stabbed in the neck on May 4th possibly due to fear that he would testify in court. The stabbing caused severe injury and required multiple surgeries. The suspect was arrested once more five days after the incident. He was arraigned on attempted murder charges and his bail was set at $499,999.

Drunk Driver Hit And Run In Montauk

Shortly after midnight on May 26, a 28-year-old woman was hit by a drunk driver as she was crossing Montauk Highway. The driver fled the scene of the accident, according to police, but was found shortly after. The 33-year-old driver was arrested and charged with DWI. The woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital having sustained serious injuries.

Midtown Arrest For DWI And Cocaine Possession

On Tuesday night, May 8, around 11 pm the FDNY pension director and former firefighters union head allegedly lost control of his Prius around 7th Avenue and 30th Street in Midtown. His vehicle jumped the curb, hit a dumpster, and stopped in front of a store, according to authorities.  He was found to be in possession of cocaine and was arrested at the scene of the accident. He has been charged with DWI and criminal possession of a controlled substance. The Fire Commissioner has announced that he has been “removed from his position as the Executive Director of the New York City Fire Pension Fund.”
