Firefighter Arrested For Drunk Driving Hit & Run In Queens, NY
A FDNY firefighter was recently arrested for drunk driving in Queens, NY after rear-ending another vehicle and fleeing the scene of the accident.
According to reports, the 28-year-old firefighter was involved in a car crash on the Grand Central Parkway on Wednesday, October 12th. After colliding with the rear-end of another vehicle, the firefighter allegedly fled the scene of the accident, but became stuck in traffic shortly afterwards near the LaGuardia Airport.
The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended followed the firefighter and called police to report the incident. Officers responded to the scene and pulled over the firefighter who allegedly refused to take a breathalyzer test. The man was eventually arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, as well as hit and run charges
NYPD Officer Arrested On Drunk Driving Charges In Long Island, NY
A police officer from the New York Police Department was arrested on drunk driving charges in October after his vehicle became stuck on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) tracks in Queens, NY.
According to reports, the 39-year-old police officer was off-duty and was driving his own personal car when he got stuck on the LIRR tracks near Borden Avenue and Pulaski Bridge at approximately 10pm on Sunday, October 16th.
Police arrived on the scene of the accident after receiving a report of a vehicle stuck on the tracks. Police officers say that the suspect smelled of alcohol and refused to submit to a breathalyzer test when asked to do so.
The man was then arrested for driving while under the influence, obstructing a railroad crossing and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test.
Man Arrested For Drunk Driving In Southampton, NY
A man was recently arrested for drunk driving on Long Island after being pulled over by police for speeding and driving recklessly.
The 26-year-old Long Island resident was arrested on Monday, October 31st, after allegedly driving under the influence and speeding on County Road 80 in Southampton, NY.
New York State Police pulled over the suspect after he was seen speeding and aggressively changing lanes on County Road 80. The officers on the scene eventually arrested the man on drunk driving charges. He was also charged with speeding and changing lanes unsafely.
The man is due in court on November 14th to face the charges against him.
Driver Arrested For DUI & Resisting Arrest In Nassau County
A 26-year-old man from Long Island was recently arrested for drunk driving and resisting arrest after being stopped by police officers in Lynbrook, NY.
According to reports, Lynbrook police officers pulled over a vehicle at 7:46pm on Thursday, October 20th, after the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Olive Place.
Police reported that the driver had glassy, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.
Police officers attempted to place the man under arrest for suspicion of drunk driving, but the man allegedly resisted by flailing his arms and punching three police officers on the scene.
Officers were eventually able to place the man under arrest, but one of the officers was injured in the process.
White Plains Man Arrested For DUI In Westchester County
A White Plains man was one of many drivers arrested on DWI charges in the beginning of October as part of State Police efforts to combat intoxicated driving in Westchester County.
According to reports, New York State Police (NYSP) arrested a 23-year-old man on misdemeanor DWI charges after the suspect was involved in a car crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Hawthorne, NY.
The White Plains resident was arrested on suspicion of DWI on Sunday October 2nd, and was scheduled to appear in the Town of Greenburgh Court on October 18th, 2016 to face the charges.
