Off-duty NYPD Officer Arrested For Drunk Driving In Queens, NY

An off-duty police officer for the New York Police Department was arrested on DUI charges after being involved in an accident in Queens, NY.

According to reports, the 24-year-old NYPD officer was driving a Ford Mustang on Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows, NY at around 12:45 a.m. on Friday, March 24th, when he allegedly crashed into three parked vehicles.

Police officers arrived at the scene of the crash and suspected that the off-duty officer was under the influence of alcohol. The man was eventually arrested and taken to a nearby police station where he was charged with DUI.

Cyclist Killed In Fatal DWI Hit-and-run In Queens, NY

Bicycle HandlebarsA cyclist was recently killed in Queens, NY when he was struck by an allegedly drunk driver who had a history of license revocations.

According to reports, the 32-year-old man was riding his bicycle home from work at around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st, when he was fatally struck by a Ford SUV at the Intersection of 43rd Avenue and 39th Street in Sunnyside, NY.

Witnesses say the driver of the vehicle that fatally struck the cyclist fled the scene of the accident. However, police arrested the suspect a few hours after the crash at an auto repair shop in Woodside, NY.

According to court records, the man was ultimately charged with felony drunk driving, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, circumventing an ignition interlock device and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test.

Man Arrested For Aggravated DWI & Other Charges In Scarsdale, NY

A 52-year-old man from Ardsley, NY was recently arrested for aggravated DWI and several other DUI-related charges in Queens, NY.

Police officers responded to reports of of a parked car that was obstructing traffic on Garth Road at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Friday, March 31st.

After arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers approached the vehicle and found a man in the driver’s seat. According to police reports, the responding officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from within the man’s vehicle and noticed an open container of clear liquid in the center console that was later determined to be vodka.

The 52-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Police reports state that the man was uncooperative during the arrest and even attempted to kick one of the police officers at one point.

The man was eventually taken to a local police station for booking where – after refusing several times – he agreed to submit to a breath test and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of .3% – well above the legal limit.

The man was ultimately charged with aggravated DWI, third-degree assault with intent to cause physical harm, obstruction of government administration and resisting arrest.

He was scheduled to appear in Scarsdale Village Justice court in April to face the charges.

Long Island Woman Arrested On Aggravated DWI Charges & Leandra’s Law Violation In Lindenhurst, NY

A woman was arrested on on drunk driving charges and Leandra’s Law violations in early March after crashing her vehicle in Lindenhurst, NY.

According to reports from CBS New York, the woman was driving her Jeep Liberty on Centre Avenue at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 11th, when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

The woman’s 9-year-old son was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and sustained minor injuries, according to reports. The woman was ultimately charged with Aggravated DWI, Leandra’s Law violations and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Man Arrested For Drunk Driving In Hempstead, NY

According to the Nassau County Police Department, a 20-year-old man was arrested on Aggravated DWI charges and Leandra’s Law violations on Sunday, March 12th, after being pulled over for erratic driving in Hempstead, NY.

Police reports state that law enforcement officers observed a Honda CRV traveling southbound on South Franklin Street when the driver made a left turn onto Peninsula Boulevard at a high rate of speed. The driver allegedly failed to maintain his vehicle in his lane after making the left turn.

A Highway Patrol Officer stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Whitson Street. Police reports suggest that the responding officer noticed that the driver had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, as well as a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

Police also say that there was a 15-year-old child in the back seat of the man’s vehicle when he was pulled over. The driver was charged with Aggravated DWI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Failure to Stay in a Single Lane and Speeding, among other traffic violations.

NYPD School Safety Agent Arrested For Driving Under The Influence of Alcohol After Being Involved In Auto Accident In Manhattan, NY

A 23-year-old NYPD School Safety Agent was arrested on Sunday, March 26th, after crashing his vehicle in Manhattan, NY.

According to report, the man was driving a Ford Mustang on FDR Drive near Delancey Street at approximately 4:40 a.m. when he allegedly crashed into two parked vehicles. Witnesses say the driver got out of his vehicle and appeared to be unsteady on his feet.

Police showed up at the scene of the crash where they arrested the man for driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed driving.
