Drunk Driver From Queens Had Loaded Gun In Car At Time Of Arrest, Police Say

Handgun and Bullets on TableA 31-year-old man from Jamaica, Queens was recently arrested on DUI charges after he allegedly crashed into a closed construction area in Fort Lee, NJ.

According to Port Authority Police, the man was driving near the George Washington Bridge toll booth when he lost control of his vehicle and veered into the construction area.

Police said that the driver failed a breathalyzer test before being arrested. Official reports also indicate that police found a loaded Phoenix Arms .22 semiautomatic handgun and an empty bottle of Hennessy in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.

The 31-year-old man was ultimately charged with DWI, reckless driving, driving without a registration and gun possession. For more information on this story visit the original article from

Passenger On Dirt Bike Suffers Serious Head Injury After Being Involved In Crash With Drunk, Off-Duty Probation Officer In Washington Heights, NY

A 24-year-old man was severely injured after being involved in a DUI-related accident in Washington Heights on Friday, September 22, 2017.

According to reports, the man was riding as a passenger on the back of a dirt bike when the driver of the dirt bike suddenly crashed into the back of an Acura at the intersection of Amsterdam Ave and West 189th Street.

Police say that the Acura was being driven by an off-duty probation officer who was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident. The driver of the Acura was arrested and charged with drunk driving.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident and rushed the 24-year-old man to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia to be treated for a serious head injury that he sustained during the accident.

Wrong-way Crash In Seaford-Oyster Bay Leads To DWI Arrest

Wrong Way Street SignA 24-year-old man was recently arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after allegedly driving the wrong way on the Seaford-Oyster Bat Expressway and causing an accident on Monday, September 18, 2017.

According to Nassau police, the 24-year-old man was heading southbound in the northbound lanes of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway at approximately 2:52 a.m. when he crashed into a Toyota near Exit 9 in Bethpage, NY.

The impact caused the Toyota to hit a median and veer off into the woods where it rolled over. The two passengers in the Toyota were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for back and neck injuries that they sustained in the accident.

The wrong-way driver was ultimately charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, as well as several other traffic violations.

Driver Arrested On DWI Charges After Striking Pedestrian In Suffolk County

A man from Mastic was arrested and charged with drunk driving after his vehicle struck a pedestrian in Coram, NY.

According to Suffolk County Police, the 48-year-old pedestrian was walking on the shoulder of Old Town Road at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, when he was struck by the vehicle.

The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was reportedly in critical condition. The 47-year-old driver left the scene of the accident, but called police about an hour later to report that he had hit something on Old Town Road earlier in the night.

The driver was ultimately arrested and charged with DWI.

Man Arrested For Drunk Driving In Scarsdale, New York

A 39-year-old man from New Jersey was arrested on drunk driving charges in Westchester County earlier this month.

Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department received multiple reports of a man driving a blue Ford Explorer who stopped and urinated on the side of Ross Road in Scarsdale, NY. Local police officers were able to track down the reported vehicle on Brewster Road and pulled the driver over.

According to police reports, the officers who conducted the vehicle stop smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath and noticed other signs of intoxication during the stop. The 39-year-old man allegedly refused to submit to any Standardized Field Sobriety tests or preliminary breath tests during the vehicle stop.

Yonkers Man Arrested On Felony DWI Charges After Being Arrested In Bronxville, NY

A 61-year-old man from Yonkers is facing felony charges after being pulled over and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in Bronxville, New York.

According to reports, police officers stopped the 61-year-old driver on Library Lane after witnessing him speed through a school zone on Midland Avenue. During the traffic stop the police officers determined that the man was driving with a revoked driver’s license and had been convicted of drunk driving within the prior 10 years.

The man allegedly refused to submit to a breathalyzer test before being arrested on a felony DWI charge. He was arraigned in the Bronxville Village Court.
